Owner/Professional Dog Trainer/Professional Groomer
Rebecca has been a local of Grande Prairie her entire life. Loving the combination of city amenities with the close-knit feel of country life; there is nowhere else she would want to put down roots.
Rebecca’s love of dogs has been with her since childhood – she started clicker training her first dog at the young age of 12, and has been in love with dogs and training ever since. That first dog, named Apollo, was even featured in two local plays – The Miracle Worker and Little Orphan Annie – showcasing his training in various tricks and behaviours.
Taking her love of dogs and training seriously, Rebecca found work as a dog groomer as she studied canine behaviour and training with Canadian Canine Training Corp in 2000. From that initial training and certification, the learning has never stopped. Rebecca has travelled across Canada to learn from experts in canine behaviour, training and dog sports. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers, and has taken clinics and seminars in various aspects of training, behaviour, and sports: herding, tracking, scent detection, canine freestyle, agility, trick training, competitive obedience, canine aggression and dog to dog interactions, calming signals, companion dog training, grooming, and more.
Rebecca started Partners Naturally in 2006 after 6 years working as a mobile professional dog trainer. Partners Naturally is Grande Prairie’s first fully-matted training facility for dogs, as well as a full-service grooming salon for dogs of all sizes. We were also one of the first businesses to sell only all-natural foods & treats for your pup in Grande Prairie as Rebecca knows that diet can have a huge impact on the behaviour and well-being of your dog. Partners Naturally expanded to offer doggy daycare services in 2011 so that we could fill the need of a safe place to socialize as well as offer owners the ability to drop their pups off for some daytime training while at work.
For the last 15 years, Rebecca has also volunteered her time in the community by teaching 4H canine clubs which progressed into also volunteering with Dogs with Wings Assistance Dog Society in 2011. Rebecca is now the Satellite Puppy Leader for Dogs with Wings in Grande Prairie, and enjoys spending time helping service dog puppies and their foster families through that critical first year of training and socializing on their way to becoming certified service dogs.
On her own time, Rebecca enjoys competing with her dogs in rally-obedience, competitive obedience, and agility. She will be adding competition in dock diving and scent detection, and also has goals of disc.
She has a beautiful daughter and loving husband at home, and also enjoys working with her horses in her spare time (and yes, the horses are clicker trained too!).

I am that friendly face you see in the mornings as you rush in to drop your pup off for daycare or grooming services. Maybe I've helped you with a purchase, or answered your calls. I actually have my Journeyman Cabinetmaking Ticket; but due to the economy in Grande Prairie, have joined Partners Naturally as their front end gal Friday.
I am also Rebecca's sister, so I have spent my lifetime around dogs and of course, my sister and her training business. Maybe some of her skills will brush off on me? While circumstances mean that I currently have no pets, I love each of my puppy nephews and nieces (Xanthius, Rhea and Eros) and now I get to see them every day at work too!
The last pet to share my home was Orchid, a small black kitty rescued from the GP SPCA.
Now I get to fall in love with each day with your dogs, and even if I can't own my own doggy at the moment, I get to share the puppy joys with all of yours. You can't ask for a better job than that!

I am your part-time afternoon doggy daycare specialist. I'm not usually up front, so you may have to look hard to find me playing with the dogs, helping with clean up, and general duties around the store. My favourite part of daycare is, of course, cuddling with all the dogs and playing with them.
I'm not able to have pets at my home, so I am very lucky to be able to share my love of animals with all of your doggies during the day.

Reiki Practitioner: completed training as Reiki Master in 1990 with training to work with animals.
Walter: Shih Tsu rescued from Grande Prairie - he loves everyone!
Bishop: Potluck puppy, medium sized, rescued from Edmonton - such a character!
Elli: Poodle cross rescued from Mexico - our little clown.
TJ: Calico kitty rescued from Bezanson area - she's purrfect.
Words cannot describe the joy and honour I get working with dogs. I am especially passionate when it comes to older, sick or deformed dogs (my Elli is missing an eye). And because Reiki is such a part of my everyday being, it is especially rewarding to be able to put my loving Reiki hands on so many wonderful pets.
I also love and can do any and all forms of creative grooming. From a touch of pet friendly nail polish to a full Asian fusion or anime cut with a splash of color (pet-friendly chalk, spray, or semi-permanent dyes).
I have done a number of different jobs since age 16 but I have never felt so at home and fulfilled as I am now as a dog groomer, and can't imagine doing anything else. I especially love the special friendships I have built with so many of my doggy clients!

Currently shares her home with:
Audi: German Shepherd - a fashion icon with over 30 different collars to fit his mood.
Yarra: German Shepherd puppy - a new furkid to the family just learning the ropes.
I have always had a love of dogs, even from a very young age. I first got into grooming when Audi joined my life. Being a long haired German Shepherd meant I had to learn how to keep his coat in tip top shape. I began by grooming dogs for Audi's breeder at Waechterberg Kennels, and later took a job at a small grooming shop in Gibbons, AB. From there, I took my education to the next level by becoming a professional groomer.
I love giving breed cuts - they're my favorite. The specifics of matching the haircut to the structure of the dog and creating that show-ring-look is always a great challenge. Outside of grooming I enjoy training my own dogs to compete in sports such as rally-obedience, IPO (Schutzhund), and agility.

Why do I love working with dogs/grooming: working with dogs is a lot different than working with people. Meaning, people don't poop, puke, bite, nip, etc. at/on you (hopefully). So what makes all the yuck worth it? The kisses and cuddles that you receive as the tip, discovering every dog’s different personality, and watching an animal transform in front of your eyes by your own creativity. Every groomer has a different signature touch. Whether it is the decision of the eyebrow length, size of the Poodle's puff, matching the perfume to the dogs personality (yes, we do that), or even the simple placement of the bow. All the change of the dog is in your hands only. Not a lot of jobs offer that opportunity of trust to create and self-express on somebody else's beloved 'child.' The best feeling is watching the owners reaction as we bring them their dog. Something as simple as a quick brush out to a full shave down makes such a big difference in a dog's appearance. Every dog has its own style!
Working on dogs makes the work environment happy, loving, fun, and full of never-ending kisses. I wouldn't trade that for the average, daily desk job any day for any price. "Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole." -Roger A. Caras
